In my initial week at the SDHC, I have gained insights into diverse cultures, worked on site projects , and familiarized myself with museum operations. On Monday, I toured the museum and learned new things about San Diego that I previously lacked awareness of. I also had the opportunity to visit and get a tour in the San Diego Chinese historical museum. I was able to broadened my understanding of San Diego's cultural background, which goes beyond the division between Americans and Mexicans, and it highlights the distinct heritages that have shaped the city and their efforts to claim a sense of belonging such as the Chinese community. On Tuesday, I went to the Comic Com museum and I got to learn about the history of art through the entertainment industry such as cartoons and how they have developed through time.
